Canada Day Celebration Cascumpec
Join us from 10-12 at Cascumpec School on July 1st to celebrate Canada Day!  Face painting, games, prizes, BBQ and cake.  Event is free!

Learn to Run 5K
A 10-week walk-to-run program designed for beginners, led by a community volunteer.  The group meets once per week with the expectation that participants follow a training program on their own outside of the L2R group.  All program graduates will complete a 5K run upon completion of the program.  Check out the L2R program being offered in the Western Region:
Tignish - Tuesdays at 6:30 starting April 18 at Bi-Centennial Park led by Cherissa Arsenault
Alberton - Mondays at 5:30 starting April 24 at Old Stone Station led by Stacey Legere
O'Leary - Wednesdays at 6:30 starting April 19 at O'Leary Walking Track led by Laura Haywood
Ellerslie - Tuesdays at 6:00 starting April 18 at Ellerslie Walking Track led by Chantel Henderson & Crystal MacKendrick
Evangeline - Tuesdays at 6:30 starting April 18 at Ecole Evangeline led by Tracey Wilson
Miscouche - Tuesdays at 6:00 starting April 18 at Confederation Trail (Lady Slipper Dr) led by Karla Lynch and Linda Perry

Learn to run 10K
The L2R 10K program is meant for L2R 5K graduates or those who are able to walk and run a 5K distance and want to increase their running stamina.  This 10-week program will progressively teach your body to go from running a 5K to a 10K distance.  All program graduates will complete a 10K run upon completion of the program.  Check out the L2R 10K programs being offered in the Western Region:
Tignish - Thursdays at 6:30 starting April 20 at Bi-Centennial Park led by Cherissa Arsenault
Alberton - Wednesdays at 6:30 starting April 12 at Town Hall led by Ron & Susan Flynn
Tyne Valley - Wednesdays at 6:30 starting April 26 at Tyne Valley Play School led by Nicole DesRoches

Learn to Run Half Marathon (21K)
If you are ready to take your running to the next level, this is the program for you!  Join Julie Ramsay as she leads a 12-week program meeting on Thursdays at 6:30 starting March 30 at Kent Building Supplies in Bloomfield.

Learn to Run Finale
On June 24th, the Learn to Run participants from the Western Region will come together for a 5K/10K finale!  The 10K event will start at 9:30am, the 5K at 10:00am at the Mill River Aquaplex Parking Lot.  Hope to see Learn to Run participants from Miscouche, Evangeline, Tyne Valley, Ellerslie, O'Leary, Alberton and Tignish!

Try Kayaking
We are excited to introduce anyone over the age of 9 to kayaking this summer for free! (Children between the age of 9-12 must be accompanied by an adult during this activity) If you own your own PFD, please bring it, we will have some but sizing may not be optimal.  Drop into these locations during the scheduled time and we will ensure you have a chance to try this great activity!
