Programs for All Ages

Confederation Trail Biking
Join us at 5:45pm on the following dates as we explore the Confederation Trail in Western PEI.  All abilities are welcome and each evening will be approximately 20km round trip(distance can vary based on ability): 
Ellerslie, Ellerslie Rite Stop - September 27
Richmond, Bakin Express - September 28
Wellington, Access PEI - October 4
Miscouche, Lady Slipper Drive - October 5

Learn to Make Healthy Preserves:
Walking the Red Road West Youth Group planted a section of the community garden in O'Leary this summer and they will be using their veggies to host sessions on how to make healthy preservies:

Hiking at Trout River Natural Area

The 8km (round trip) trail is open to the public year round for walking!  Trail is located at 36927 Hwy #2, Carleton, call 859-1552 for more information.

Try Archery at Hernewood
Want to try something new or enhance your archery skills? Join us for weekly drop-in sessions on Thursdays starting October 6:
7:30 - 8:15pm - beginners
8:15-9:00pm - experienced archers
Cost is $2/person, $5/family.  Must be 12 years or older, all abilities and skill levels welcome.  Contact Alison at or 859-8856 for more information.

Children's Programs

Hide and Seek Tag
Join us for the Island's biggest game of Hide and Seek Tag at the Alberton Exhibition Grounds at 6:30pm on October 28.  All ages are welcome (children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult) to get their hearts racing and enjoy healthy snacks.  Please bring your own flashlight.  Contact Alison at 859-8856 or Amanda at 853-3582 for more information.


Adult/Older Adult Programs

Cooking Class
10-week Healthy Cooking Class led by Carole Chiasson 7-9pm Mondays starting September 26 at ME Callaghan Junior High School. Program is being offered in conjunction with Community School - cost is $15.  Contact Alison at 902-859-8856 or for more information.

Adult Pickleball
Come try the exciting sport of pickleball; a game played on a badminton court with a tennis net and ping pong-like paddles! Cost is $2/person and indoor sneakers are required.
Ellerslie Elementary School - 7:30pm Mondays starting October 17
Hernewood Junior High School - 7:30pm Tuesdays starting October 11
O'Leary Elementary School - 7pm Thursdays starting October 13

Adult Badminton
Anyone age 18+ is welcome to join us at Ellerslie Elementary for Adult Badminton.  This free program is Thursdays at 7pm starting September 22 - May 25Clean sneakers are required.  Contact Alison at or 902-859-8856 for more information.

Running Group
Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays at 6pm - meet Carolyn McKie At Confederation Trail in Ellerslie for a running group.  Contact Alison at for more information.

go!Walk O'Leary
Join Bev Murphy for a weekly walking group at 7pm Tuesdays starting August 16 meeting at O'Leary Guardian Drug Store Parking Lot.  Contact Alison for more information

50+ Walking Group Ellerslie
The Ellerslie walking group meets at 9am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for approximately 1 hour of physical activity.  Anyone is welcome to join, but meeting location changes each week so please contact Mary McGuire for more information 831-2812.
